oetry Competition

Robin Hood: The legendary outlaw who robs from the rich to give to the poor. Many tales of his deeds are well known. However, the oldest of them, Robin and the Monk, has been partially lost to time.

The story tells of Robin going to Nottingham to pray. But the monk informs the Sherrif that Robin is in town. Robin tries to fight against the Sherrif and his men, but is overwhelmed. And then.... Well. No one truly knows for a portion of the story was lost and the next thing readers know, Little John and the Merry Men have just been informed of Robin's capture and his Merry Men are hastening to his rescue.

So to you, dear friends, we put this task: Tell us what you think transpired between these plot points.

Entries will be judged on creativity and faithfulness to original meter (see previous link for text). A collection folder will be placed in the competition shelter (2A) and entries must be submitted in writing by 3pm.

tolen Materials Competition

Time: Saturday 12:00pm - 3:00pm
Location: A&S Competition Shelter (2A)

In the spirit of making what you need out of what you have (as bandits had to), and gathering resources in a questionable manner (as bandits do), this competition will be to create a “treasure” so to win the hearts of the populous and the forgiveness of the Sheriff.

Each person or team will be given a random bag of loot. After everyone has displayed their Loot, each contestant or team will try to acquire more/better loot from each other and/or from the Sheriff/Reeve. They will then create with their loot whatever they wish to present as Treasure. The best Treasure will buy the lenience and perhaps even the praise of the Village authorities.

Skulldugery, deception, guile and flimflammery are encouraged. Brute force and wrastlin are not. Be creative in getting your fellow bandits’ (or the Sheriff’s) Loot. Impress the Village and the Sheriff with ingenuity and outrageous storytelling of the value and history of your treasure.
