Theme
All are welcome to come along on a weekend pilgrimage to Canterbury. Honor Sir Geoffrey Chaucer’s collection of tales while enjoying storytelling, songs, combat and comradery during the journey.

Site
Skyway All Event Venue
588 State Hwy W, Elsberry, MO, 63343
Amenities
There is plenty of camping space on this lovely farm. Camping and activities will be set up near a climate controlled building with restrooms and tables, and a permanent shelter with tables and barbecue grills. There is a shower house with more toilets. There is electricity on site, and plenty of water spigots outside as well as in.
Site Rules
- The site is pet friendly, so long as pets are kept on leashes and leashes are attached to something immovable or a person strong enough to control the animal. Do not leave pets unattended.
- The site does not allow us to dig fire pits. We will have a large fire ring for evening festivities. You may bring fire bowls or other portable fire containment devices. Please do not bring in outside firewood. Firewood will be available on site.
Food
- While we will not be having a feast, there are two rather large barbecue grills under the permanent shelter. First-come-first-served, share nice. Bring your own charcoal and starter, in addition to things to grill.
- Skyway is a bit remote, and the nearest place to get food is not close. The nearest city is Elsberry and is a ~15 minute drive.

The “holder” gets one life, while all other combatants have unlimited resurrections. The game is won when Becket is returned to one team’s home or if a “holder” is killed.
- 3 pm: Rock, Paper, Scissors for the Excellent and Graceful Tourney – Two gentles of either Excellent or Graceful status play “Rock, Paper, Scissors” until there is a winner. The winner gets to chose the weapons for both combatants. This will be done as either a tree or a round robin depending on the number of combatants.

- Water spigots are available along the road. The site owners have graciously offered to help haul water from the spigots to the water areas using their gator and buckets. Feel free to bring larger buckets for water to limit the need to refill (based on what works best for your equine).
- There will be a manure spreader for manure collection located close to the equestrian camping. The site owners have graciously offered to empty at least once a day (will empty more often depending on how many equines show up to the event).
- Equestrians should register through this link for ease of check-in at the event.
Equine Health Requirements
The Missouri State Board of Animal Health requires all equines being transported into Missouri to have a Coggins dated within 12 months of the event and a traveling health certificate dated within 30 days of the event.
Horse Etiquette
Warning: Under Missouri law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.
Minors need direct supervision around the horses, please do not allow them to wander in the barns or horse areas without you or another parent/guardian.
Horses are “Fight or Flight” prey animals. If it scares them, they will run. Consider your actions with this in mind.
Whenever possible, please WALK in view of the horses and not directly in front or behind them. Sudden movements or flapping objects can look very scary to horses.
Always ask the owner if you may approach or touch a horse.
If the horses ears are:
Forward = That means they are happy or sometimes it can mean they are scared
Ears pinned back = That means they are angry
Ears twitching = That means they are listening
Never feed a horse without permission; your fingers look like tasty carrots. Also they may be on a special diet and anything else might be harmful

Arts & Sciences Competitions:
The Miller’s Tale Competition:
Let it be in the spirit of that rascally Miller’s Tale, where bawdy wit and skill did vie for all to see. Present your finest, bawdy, work, in any medium you wish, such as (but not limited to) story, craft, or cunning device. And for the sake of truth and proper lore, prithee, provide a 3×5 card detailing all your sources. Please, one entry per participant.
The Pilgrimmage Competition:
Let it be in the spirit of such questions: What would you have brought with you on this long road? What would you have brought to keep busy and fill the hours? Was it a book of prayers, a wee loom for weaving, or a tapestry for needlepoint? Or perhaps it was something to sustain the body, a special food or drink for the journey? Present your finest work, in any medium you wish, be it song or story, craft or cunning device. And for the sake of truth and proper lore, prithee, provide a 3×5 card detailing all your sources. Please, one entry per participant.
What marvels will you bring forth for our delight and judgment?
Yes, you may enter both challenges; however, your entries must differ. Songs, stories, or anything performance-based must be 3 minutes or under. You will be timed. You will be cut off.
