FAQ
What is a Changeling’s Ball?
In the early days of Calontir (before it was even a kingdom), Changeling’s Balls were a popular form of event that were, as the name suggests, a ball. At that time, the ball was a much bigger portion of the event (as dance was more widely learned) and would consist of a ball, a feast, and then another ball. However, for the second ball, participants would change costumes. Some would take the opportunity to dress as mythological characters. Others would simply change dress with their partners.
During one such ball, the King and Queen (then of the Midrealm) attended. During the changeover, they exchanged garb and the king shaved off his moustache. The queen then affixed one leading to a popular cry of “To the Queen’s moustache!”
A Changeling’s Ball doesn’t have anything to do with Orren & Lyra’s personas…
That’s not a question, but that’s correct. Because bids were due well before Crown tournament we had no idea who the Heirs would be. However, Their Highnesses will be having a Norse coronation ceremony.
